Vida Restaurant, owned by Marc Taxiera and Brianne Meyers-Taxiera, will open in late October at 14 Marble Ave. in Thornwood.
The eatery will be run by the same team that opened Augustine's Salumeria in Mamaroneck in 2022 and will offer Spanish cuisine, including modern interpretations of tapas, which are small appetizers.
Some examples of these that will be offered by Vida include papas brava, which consist of smashed crispy potato bites; cheesy croquettes with Serrano ham; and olive-oil-fried duck egg with sea urchin hollandaise and caviar.
In addition to tapas, the menu will also have a Parilla section full of offerings like grass-fed beef and Iberico pork. These grilled options will be served with accouterments like mojo verde, rojo mojo, and chimichurri.
Other menu offerings include paella, a rice dish often served by Spanish restaurants. Vida will serve items like the Valenciana, consisting of chicken, rabbit, escargot, sofrito, and saffron; as well as seafood and vegetarian paella.
Of course, the restaurant won't only serve food: it will also offer signature cocktails and an extensive wine list centering on Spanish vineyards.
Once it opens, those who stop by will get to enjoy the restaurant's European-inspired design complete with a bar and semi-private dining area, and outdoor patio. Meanwhile, on the second floor, the Vida Lounge will provide a more casual setting complete with antique loveseats and chandeliers.
Although an opening date has not yet been announced, the restaurant plans to open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
